The Ötztal's crowning glory are the twin towns of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Austria's highest parish is famous for its superb walks and hikes, and is an excellent starting point for high alpine and glacier tours.

In the summer Obergurgl-Hochgurgl have a special focus on health & high altitudes and "Nordic High Walking" with Europe's highest "Nordic High Walking Trail" at 1930 meters above sea level.
